The Shapes of Things

The shapes of things (objects) take on strange appearances. Depending on the information provided, our perception of an object can vary greatly. We may never have all the information required to build a full picture. We perceive the three dimensional world outside our head as a two dimensional image reflected onto the retina of our eyes. In order to interpret this data we must lower its resolution. What we see of the world is a reconstruction which only approximates the world outside our heads. We can never see an entire object all at once, there is always a part that is hidden.

Flying objects are of a whole other class of objects whose qualities make correct identification often impossible. Hence the rise of the unidentifiable flying object whose appearance has coincided with and accompanied us, as we go through the most rapid technological advances of our history during the past 130 years.

This series is not necessarily an exploration of the UFO itself, but rather our perception of it and the implications of how this perception shapes our world view, and what we become as a result.
